Filtration
Diesel fuel filtration and air filtration systems. Pre-filter kits to protect your fuel system from water and particle contamination. Oil catch cans to prevent blow-by gases from entering your intake. Essential protection for touring vehicles.
Most 4WDs leave the factory with a single-element fuel filter that only takes one expensive, manufacturer-specific cartridge. With fuel quality across Australia getting harder to trust, good filtration is the cheapest insurance you can buy for a modern diesel.
The problem with bad fuel
Poor or contaminated fuel leads to blocked and damaged injectors, worn or leaking fuel pumps, and expensive engine damage — often on near-new vehicles. Water and the 'algae' that grows in it only make things worse.
Pre-Filter systems for Common Rail
- A 30-micron pre-filter sits before your main filter, catching contamination early without restricting fuel flow.
- It protects the original filter and its water and restriction alerts, so they keep working as designed.
- Every kit comes complete — heavy-duty stainless bracket, hoses, fittings and instructions — and can be retrofitted with a water-alert buzzer.
We still recommend changing your main filter every 10,000 km.
CAV/Delphi adaptor for older diesels
For older non-Common-Rail engines, our Lucas/CAV adaptor ring screws onto the standard filter head and takes a low-cost element (around $8 instead of up to $90) available almost anywhere. A glass bowl lets you spot water or contamination at a glance and drain it with a wing nut.
Good filtration starts at the bowser
Buy from a known brand, stick to it where you can, and keep your receipts. No filter stops deliberately adulterated diesel — but the right setup catches the everyday problems long before they reach your engine.
